about

Limitation is frequently the fuel of creation. For this project, South London producer Aeshim worked with only a small handful of drum samples, a Juno 6 synthesiser, a tambourine and a shaker.

Each track was allowed a small amount of hours to find itself and over seven days, from the eight pieces completed, he selected these four to represent his music, at that moment in February 2018.

While Fuzzy Felt and Shower Power stutter with the clear influence of the quintessential London sound of broken beat, there is jazz and soul within. Moments in Shower Power remind us of Stevie Wonder with that synth bass and the rhodes-sounding synth punches.

Meanwhile Peckham Waltz is a tough 3/4 rhythm punctuated with synth-brass stabs and low rumbling bass racing up and down throughout. The EP finishes with No Flowers a deeply soothing and effortless roll into reverberated spaces. A peaceful end to an eventful four-track introduction.

We love these pieces, we hope you will too.
